How to get to Bochum...

by train:

Bochum is easy to reach by train:

• 1 hour from Cologne (Köln)
• 2.5 hours from Frankfurt/M.
• 2.5 hours from Amsterdam (via Duisburg)
• 3.5 hours from Berlin
• 4 hours from Bruxelles (via Köln)
• 5.5 hours from Paris (via Köln)

by car:

There are two motorways leading to Bochum: A 43 and A 40.

• Motorway A 43: exit at Bochum, interchange "Kreuz Bochum" (exit no.17)
• Motorway A 40: exit at Bochum Stahlhausen, turn left towards BO-Zentrum, after 200 m turn left into Donezk-Ring (City-motorway)
• exit Abfahrt BO-Querenburg / Universität (after about 4.5 km)
• turn right into Universitätsstraße towards BO-Querenburg / Universität
• exit Uni - Mitte after 2 km

by airplane:

The next airport is Düsseldorf International. There is a direct 30-minute-connection from Düsseldorf Airport Main Station (Düsseldorf Flughafen) to Bochum Main Station (Bochum Hauptbahnhof) by different trains (Intercity-Express, Intercity and Regional-Express). Direct trains from Cologne Airport (Köln/ Bonn Flughafen) take about 1,5 hours.

How to get to the conference...

The conference takes place in the "Veranstaltungszentrum", a builduing under the "Mensa" (the university restaurant).

If you get there by underground (10 minutes from Bochum Hauptbahnhof), there will be signs to guide you over the campus to the "Veranstaltungszentrum" (walking distance: about 7 minutes).

If you get there by car:

• exit at "Bochum-Querenburg/Universität" (exit no. 19)
• Follow the Universitätsstraße, direction Universität/ Zentrum
• exit at "Uni - Mitte" (about 2 km)
• Free parking is sign posted (P9)

You should try to park your car in the car-park P9 which is next to the "Veranstaltungszentrum". (On the website of the "Veranstaltungszentrum", there are detailed plans. The plan is called "Parkmöglichkeiten".)
